memory jar

The piece "memory jar" is a collaborative work in which you the engager help create the art. The theme is "Childhood Memories"

A memory jar is a folk craft project where one decorates a jar or bottle with buttons, ribbons, pictures and other assorted items. These items are connections or symbols of your memories of the individual to whom you are giving the jar to. Sometime one will put memories of the individual who's receiving the jar written on pieces of paper inside the jar. The person can then pull out these pieces whenever they want and read them. It is common for children to do these for parents or other loved ones.

In this online memory jar you can add text, images and video/audio to any one of twenty "tags" on the virtual memory jar. In order to add images or video/audio, you'll need to create an account at youtube.com or photobucket.com to storage your work. You can then click on a "tag" on the jar to add it. You will need to copy the embed code if it's a video or the link if it is an image. You can then add a title and note to accompany your image or video. When entering the item, make sure to select the type of media you're adding ("text" for text only, "image" for adding an image, "audio" for adding audio and "video" for adding video. Remember for an image you copy the link and for video/audio you copy the embed tag to paste into the media link field. You can a text to any of these items too.
